Using the "normal" cursor tool, move the two ellipse "eyes" to the approximately correct positions.  Just drag them into place.  Then, using the shift key to select multiple objects, select both ellipses.  Click the highlighted symbol to align both eyes horizontally.  The other tools in this pane can align objects vertically, or to one side or another of the selected object.

13. Let's add the smile. Select the tool shown, which has the ungainly name "Draw Bezier curves and straight lines." Use it to draw a simple smile-- just clicking once each to form each vertex. On your last vertex, close the shape by clicking again on the initial vertex. The cursor will highlight when you hold it over that initial point.
