This wiki page gives instructions for determining which version (if any) of the Eggbot Extensions for Inkscape is installed on your computer.
Step 1: Open up Inkscape
Open up the Inkscape application.
(If you do not have the Inkscape application installed on your computer, we can tell you right now that you also do not have the Eggbot Extensions installed. Please refer to Installing software for instructions on installing Inkscape and the Eggbot Extensions.)
The Extensions menu is located at near the top of the Inkscape window. (On a Mac, it is in this location as well, not in the normal menu bar at the top of your screen.) If the Eggbot extensions are installed (any version) you should see some reference to Eggbot in the menu.
- In the unlikely event that you have a very old version (from before fall 2010) there is only a single menu item, labeled "Eggbot" or "Eggbot...." If this is the case, you will definitely want to upgrade to the newest version.
- For recent versions of the Eggbot software, there are one or two submenus. If (as is most likely) you have the submenus, select EggBot > Eggbot Control...from the menu as shown, and proceed to Step 3.
Step 3: Look at the Star-Tab in Eggbot Control
Within Eggbot control, select the "*" tab on the upper right hand side of the control panel:
The release version is indicated on the "*" tab. For the version shown here, you can see that it's an older release, 2.0.0. The current release will always be available from the EggBotCode Google Code site, and you can read more about installing the EggBot software at Installing software.
