Downloading PDFs
Large PDF documents, like those used for our instructions, can occasionally be difficult to download.
For small PDF files, you can usually click to view them directly in your web browser. If you are unable to view our instruction files directly in your browser, you will need to execute the following procedure: (1) Download the file to your computer and (2) open it in a suitable PDF reader application.
To download the file to your computer, right-click on the link to the file (on Windows) or control-click on the link to the file (on a Mac) to show the menu of options. Depending on your browser, the download option might be called something like "Save Target As..." or "Save Link As..." or "Download Linked File As...." You'll need to find the command that sounds like one of those, to save the file to your computer. Once you select the appropriate command, the file will begin downloading. You must wait for the download to finish before trying to open the file. Most browsers have a "Downloads" window that can show you the progress of a file as it downloads to your computer.
Once the file has finished downloading, you will need to open it in an appropriate PDF viewer. Suitable choices include Adobe Reader, Preview (on a Mac), Foxit Reader (Windows), and Evince (Linux). If you try to open the file before it finishes downloading, you may get a message indicating that the file is corrupted.
